Chef Matt Stone teams up with Balter
We're stoked to announce part time tattoo collector and full time Chef Matt Stone is the latest addition to the #friendsofbalter squad. We'll be teaming
up with Matt on a bunch of food and beer events throughout the year and beyond!.. What we love about Matt is he can smash everything from cheese on
toast to fine dining and all that goes great with beer. We can't wait to explore the world of food and beer with him!
Welcome to the family Matty xo
A little more about Matt:
Matt Stone is arguably the leading sustainable chef in Australian food at present.
His rise to the top of the culinary world has been rapid since starting cooking in Margaret River in 2002.
At just 22, Matt was approached by artist and Greenhouse Perth owner Joost Bakker to join his team as Head Chef. It is here that Matt embraced Joost’s philosophies of preparing fresh, sustainable, locally-sourced, whole-foods - and made a name for himself as a serious innovator and progressive cook. Matt subsequently went on to head up the kitchens at Joost’s Greenhouse popup restaurants on Sydney Harbour and Melbourne’s Southbank. In mid 2015 Matt (along with his partner Jo Barrett as the Sous Chef) took over the reins at Oakridge Estate in the Yarra Valley in Victoria. Here Matt has established a kitchen garden and a menu of regional produce.
